CAT SPAYING PROGRAMME

Club La Costa and CHAIN (CHarity for Animals In Need)

Club La Costa and CHAIN are working in partnership to help with a controlled spaying programme on the resort. The programme originally began with PADS and has achieved much success.

Approved volunteers catch the cats in legally approved traps. The cats are then taken to the vets, who carry out the necessary operation and once the cat recovers it is returned to its original territory. In order that we keep control of the cats a recognisable mark is made on one of the ears. Club La Costa is making a positive contribution in order to control the number of cats and at the same time provide a veterinary service should any of the cats need assistance. Residents are asked not to feed the cats as regular feeding stations have been set up to enable a controlled diet for the cats.
