About

Mission and Values
We exist to help Malagas abused and neglected animals.

We do this by:

- raising funds for vet fees, medication, vaccinations, transportation, food and other vital supplies.

- raising support amongst the community to help with building projects fundraising, etc.

- raising awareness of animal issues such as the need for fostering and adoption, nuetering etc.

We work closely with our Spanish neighbours - recognising that this is our adopted home and respecting the local culture and traditions.

We target the largest percentage of our funds towards veterinary services, especially neutering, as we see this as the most effective way of resolving local animal problems.

We want to work in collaboration with other animal organisations as through shared resources and partnerships we can benefit more animals.

We do not advocate politics between charities or "point scoring" at the expense of the animals. We openly embrace the ideals of the Andalucian Animal Network and will do all that we can to use our resources to support other charitable organisations.

Background

CHAIN was set up in February 2009. It is a non-profit making registered charitable association number G92976984. CHAIN has been set up to help all registered animal charities and refuges and any other animal related worthy causes. We mainly operate across the Malaga province and within the Andalucian Animal Network. All of those involved in CHAIN are volunteers and give up their time to help as they believe in our work.

What we do

We supply help and/or financial assistance to registered animal charities, refuges and other animal related worthy causes. CHAIN will consider all requests for help and we will use our bulk-buying power to secure the best deals for everyone’s limited funds.

How we do it

CHAIN will ensure that all requests for help are considered and will have a team of people who will prioritise the requests and make arrangements to procure goods and services. CHAIN will not provide money. To apply for assistance, complete the Application Form and return to one of the CHAIN Committee members. If you are unable to download the form, please contact us.

We operate an open accounts policy. At any time you are welcome to view our accounts to see what we raise and how the money is spent. We also have our accounts independently verified at the end of the financial year.

Examples of the support we can consider

  • Vaccinations and preventative medical supplies e.g. scalibor collars
  • Veterinary fees for operations, medication, therapeutic services
  • Animal accommodation and bedding
  • Animal food and water supplies
  • Animal safety and security measures
  • Stray animal re-homing services including overseas adoption
  • Transportation cages

Emergency situations

In most cases you should apply for support prior to incurring any expenditure or making any form of commitment. However we appreciate that there are emergency situations that make this impossible. For example, you rescue an injured animal that needs immediate medical care. In this situation, you may apply for support after the event.
